Camp Prairie is located on seven wooded acres set in a rural neighborhood a mile from Clam Beach County Park and about three miles from the small town of McKinleyville. The Hammond Trail which serves as the main artery for folks on bicycle adventures passes a mile away. We are surrounded by many beautiful horses, goats, a few cows, and a single massive pig living just down the road. My wife and I live with our two sons in the house on the western edge of the property. A handful of camp sites will be scattered around in the forest to the East.

We are beginning this project in October of 2022 with just one site. But please check back in over the months as we learn more about HipCamp.com and potentially expand.

Our site includes:

1. A picnic table

2. A 12’ x 12’ deck for hanging out or use as a tent platform

3. A nice flat spot if you want to put your tent on the ground

4. A chiminea for a small fire

5. A propane BBQ

6. A private toilet

7. WiFi

8. Electric lights in the trees and a place to plug in to charge your stuff

9. A source for good drinking water

Our parking area can accommodate a full size pick-up truck or a sprinter van size vehicle. We are not currently set-up for any but the smallest RVs and we really don’t have room for any trailers of any kind.

I imagine a group of up to six people might fit in this spot, but more than that and it is going to get a bit tight.

Please no dogs. We live in horse country and out of respect for our neighbors we ask that you leave the dogs at home.
